Social Audit of PDS in Kerala (2023-24)

The project funded by the Government of Kerala aimed at improving transparency in the functioning of the Public Distribution System in Kerala through the social audit process. As a part of the project, 500 Fair Price Shops (FPS) were audited, and 12500 beneficiary households attached to the FPS across 14 districts were surveyed. Awareness campaigns to highlight entitlement, eligibility criteria, and rights of beneficiaries under the National Food Security Act, 2013, were organised, and Grama Sabha meetings to discuss and resolve violations of the NFSA Act, 2017, under selected Fair Price Shops in all districts in Kerala were conducted
